John Cabot Academy Winter Concert
On Tuesday 13th December, John Cabot Academy Music department held their annual Winter Concert featuring performances from students in Year 7 to Year 11. Up to 70 students from all year groups were involved in performing, front of house and our amazing technical and lighting team.
For many of these students it was their first performance in front of an audience, with students in Year 7 participating in their first John Cabot event. The concert saw up to 150 in the audience who came along to support and enjoy the live music featuring bands, choirs, soloists and a first performance for the Year 7 Samba band, who performed pieces they have created and developed this term in Music.
There was a huge variety of music performed including Britpop classic, ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ performed by a Year 11 band, “Evolution”, “Winter Wonderland” performed by newly formed vocal group in Year 10 and fantastic solo piano performance of “Santa Tell Me” By a Year 8 student and Year 11 vocalist.
Head of Music, Charlotte Grierson said “It was a joy filled evening, full of fantastic performances from all of the students involved. We are so grateful for those who came along to support, and we look forward to our next showcase of music in the new year and our forthcoming school production of Annie!”
