John Cabot Academy stages comic book conference
John Cabot Academy’s library recently became a hub of creativity as it hosted its own Comic Book Convention.
Students were tasked with creating a unique superhero, starting with a list of adjectives, colors, and animals. These selections guided the development of their characters.
Each team crafted cover art and developed a story arc for their hero, with the goal of convincing their peers that their creation deserved to be turned into a comic.
After presenting their heroes, students voted individually on their favorite character.
The winning team, Team 6, triumphed with their character, the seven-year-old Vanilla Cheesecake Knight. This hero, known for shape-shifting and frolicking, combats evil with a purple axe. However, the Knight’s overly large hat serves as a unique weakness.
Team 6’s innovative creation earned them the contents of a mystery box filled with comic book-themed prizes.
The event was a hit, showcasing the students’ imaginations and storytelling skills.
