Dear Parents & Carers,
I am delighted to be able to share with you the Ofsted report from the inspection that took place in November 2024. We are officially Good in all areas and Post-16 is Outstanding. The report is a wonderful description of our ‘welcoming’ school to which ‘pupils feel a strong sense of belonging’.
We talk about the vision for JCA a lot and I am thrilled that Ofsted have seen much of our vision realised. The bits of the report which particularly stand out to me are:
Nurture the Individual
‘Pupils are safe’
‘The school is committed to ensuring the pupils are successful, especially those with SEND and disadvantaged pupils’.
‘The pastoral care provided by the school is a strength’
‘The school has high expectations for pupil’s behaviour and conduct….consequently pupils behave well in lessons and around school’.
Inspire through learning
‘They receive a high quality education’ …. ‘as a result they achieve very well in GCSE examinations’.
‘JCA has an ambitious curriculum ‘
Raise our community
‘Students are proud of their diverse community’ ‘The school…..celebrates differences’
‘They show very high levels of respect for the views and lives of others’.
‘Relationships between staff and students are warm’
Thank you for all your support for John Cabot Academy, it means, your children, our students, are thriving academically; flourishing and growing as young people. However, we need to keep improving; one of our targets is to create a culture where students read widely for pleasure, we will definitely have to work together over the coming years to bring this about.
Yours faithfully,
Kate Willis
