DofE Year 11 Student Helpers
Dear Parent/ Carer
Duke of Edinburgh’s Award: Year 11 Student Helpers – Sat 28th & Sun 29th September 2019
Your child has expressed an interest in supporting with the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th September 2019. We will be travelling via minibus to the Forest of Dean on the Saturday morning, leaving John Cabot Academy at 8am and returning at around 4pm on the Sunday.
Their help is invaluable and we would love their support. Within this weekend they will be required to shadow teams (walking behind them to ensure they are on the correct route), checkpoint teams, and communicate with academy staff should any issues arise. This means that they will often be remotely supervised, however we believe that with their knowledge and outstanding behaviour they are excellent role models for our current Bronze students to look up to.
We will be camping at Biblins Youth Campsite and will provide students with a tent and food for their evening meal and breakfast. They will need to bring a sleeping bag, roll mat, clothes and lunches for both days.
